Since 1985 TANDEM HAMBURG has been a recognised institution of further education in Hamburg.
We are well known:
- for our modern foreign language teaching approach
- for good, efficient and individual customer care
- for quality in further education.
Here, the students learn in a small group, with modern materials and methods. You will find no more than twelve students per group; in our evening classes the maximum number is nine.
We are an accredited test centre for The European Language Certificates (TELC) and for TestDaF.
Our TANDEM language exchange partners help each other learn the foreign language - outside of the classroom - and make their different cultural backgrounds an experience for both partners. Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of the foreign language.
Our motto "... more than just language learning" is also applicable to our language training trips and projects and the special courses with an additional cultural programme.

Situated on the banks of the river Elbe, this, the second largest city in Germany, is also a beautiful, green and lively place.
You will find our school in the west of Hamburg, in Altona. It is noticeable to this day that Hamburg's "sister" used to be a town on her own until 1937. Today, Altona is the favoured place to work and live in for a colourful mixture of people from all corners of the world. Many young people live here.
In Altona you will find everything that makes Hamburg attractive: peace and liveliness, culture and commerce, the old and the new.
