Hamburg is fantastic,

Let the city's charms turn your language learning stay into an unforgettable experience; find the language course that suits you for your new start in Hamburg, for your job, or — just for the fun of learning a language! Our language school TANDEM Hamburg is situated in the heart of the city, only a stone’s throw from the River Elbe, surrounded by water, right between the harbour and the city centre, just a few minutes' walk from the underground stations Baumwall, Landungsbrücken and Rödingsmarkt.

Hamburg’s most recently developed part of town, the ‘Harbour City’ with the new concert house, the ‘Elbphilharmonie’ and, close to it, the historic warehouse district ‘Speicherstadt’, as well as Hamburg's landmark St Michael ("der Michel") are all within striking distance.

Experience counts

We have been offering German and foreign language courses in Hamburg since 1985, so you can be assured of our experience AND our enthusiasm. TANDEM Hamburg is also an accredited examination centre for the TestDaF and the European Language Certificates (TELC). You can start your German course on almost any Monday; we will check your level with a placement test and make sure to choose the right group for you.

TANDEM®partnerships

This is the icing on the cake of any language course: let us find you a TANDEM partner to help you learn the language even better! Our TANDEM language exchange partners help each other learn the foreign language — outside of the classroom — and make their different cultural backgrounds an experience for both partners.
